Can We Build It? Yes, We Can!
End Of The Roll is proud to support charities on a national level, such as the Sunshine Foundation: Dreams for Kids. In addition to that though, we're also very proud of our stores that contribute to and participate in local organizations and causes that directly benefit their communities.
During these past few months and now going into spring, the owner of our Regina location, Alison Elliott, has been taking time out of her busy schedule to support Canada's Habitat for Humanity. They have recently enlisted Alison to be a part of raising awareness and support for one of Regina's local fundraisers: The 200K Women Build. Two hundred women in the community have generously donated $1,000 each in the efforts of building two new homes in the Regina area for low-income families.
Habitat Plains will be the first multi-family development built by Habitat for Humanity Regina, and will also be the largest multi-family development in Saskatchewan. We're very excited to have one of our own helping their cause, and very proud of her efforts to bring awareness and support for her local community, in addition to the monetary contribution that the End Of The Roll store in Regina has donated.
March 1, 2014 will be an exciting day towards this end, when they break ground for the first complex to be built. To get more information about Habitat for Humanity, or to make a donation or volunteer your time, you can go to their website here.
**Update: Because of severely cold weather in Regina, the meet and greet with the families of Habitat Plains has been cancelled. With a projected temperature of -57 Celsius with the wind chill, it is expected to be re-scheduled for later on in spring.
