Salvation Army Fill The Kettle
Have you noticed that one of the most busiest times of the year, Christmas and the Holiday Season, we find ourselves scurrying from work, darting in and out of malls and onto the next jaunt of a traditional soiree. A beautiful time of year for many, but not for all. This, too, is the time of year that you will find the Salvation Army Christmas Kettles at certain landmarks and stores with their volunteers reminding you with bells that this is a good time to give to those less fortunate.

While launching their 126th Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign this year in 2016, the Salvation Army’s largest advertising campaign does focus greatly on their slogan “Poverty isn’t always easy to see, especially during the holidays.” Since 1 in 8 families struggle to put food on the table and many more go to bed starving, the Salvation Army’s voice becomes more realized within their 400 communities across Canada serving 128 countries around the world.
Throughout the years, End of the Roll has supported many charities. Many of us have volunteered our time and talents raising funds and awareness. There is so much room for involvement and gratification helping others. We encourage you to ‘fill the kettle’ too.
The Salvation Army suggests that supporters can host their own online kettle and encourage their friends, family, neighbours and coworkers to donate to The Salvations Army. Donors can also support the 2016 Christmas Campaign by texting HOPE to 45678 from most mobile carriers in Canada. A $5 donation will be added to your monthly mobile bill.
Other than fighting against poverty,providing emergency shelters and assisting in natural disasters, this international Christian organization that began its work in Canada is continuing an ever stronger momentum since 1882. With every one’s effort, we can help them achieve the Salvation Army’s $21 million national fundraising goals this year and every year!
